Since the turn of the Millennium, Government has continued to encourage improvements in the provision of Healthcare and, through the promotion of Private Finance Initiatives (PFIs), has been able to accelerate the long overdue investment in capital projects within the Sector.
The developing public/private partnership programme for major hospitals harnesses private sector skills and sets long-term value goals, whilst allowing the Health Trusts to concentrate on the effective delivery of clinical services.
We have recently been actively involved in a number of Hospital PFI projects which have included the realisation of retail and other non-clinical facilities at:
- Great Western Hospital, Swindon (PFI).
- John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford (PFI).
- Princess Alexandra Hospital, Portsmouth (PFI).
...and we are also currently advising Carillion on the impending redevelopment of
- Southmead Hospital, Bristol
In addition we have given specific pre- & post-bidding advice to clients on other proposed acute healthcare projects and are thus well equipped to provide relevant and independent guidance to:
- developers/PFI providers seeking to realise the best service and revenue generation solutions
- occupiers seeking to dspose of space or secure market share
- Hospital Trusts seeking advice on revenue/service optimization
…within this rapidly evolving sector.
